To understand the Christian faith and explore their own beliefs and practices
To promote an ethos of tolerance, diversity and respect for all
To demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of different cultures, beliefs, practices, spiritual insights and secular world views
To be able talk about similarities and differences across religions
To have an attitude of acceptance for fellow human beings even if they do not look like them and/or do not believe in the same things as them
To encourage the pupils to enquire and question religion and beliefs so they can begin to understand the beliefs, morals, social and cultural identity of themselves, their families, their communities and the wider world.
