Autumn 2021

Welcome to Mercury Class!

Now that the new school year has started, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome both you and your child/ren to Mercury class.  The children have begun the term looking incredibly smart and are adapting to the high expectations in which this year brings. We are sure that you will agree it is important that we encourage the children to be both independent and responsible for themselves, their belongings and their actions. We are sure that we can rely on your help and support in this matter. Your continued support in the education of your child is both valued and much appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Mrs Webb, Miss Turner, Mrs Randall and Mrs Brown

We supported Children in Need by participating in the following three events…

All-Sorts Day: We came to school wearing ‘All-Sorts’ of clothes! We wore clothes back to front, a mixture of patterns or both. The crazier the better! A £1 donation was required.

Biscuit & cake sale: We bought some delicious goodies! 50p each.

Fair: We had great fun playing ‘Hook a Pudsey’ and ‘Knock down Pudsey’ plus other games. All games were 20p a go with prizes to be won.

Writing Persuasive letters.

Dear Santa...

In our 'Exciting Writing' session, we learnt how to write a persuasive letter. A persuasive letter persuades someone to do something.  In our letters, we tired to persuade Santa to give use the gifts we would like this Christmas whilst remembering to be complimentary and polite throughout our letter.

Spring 2022

Summer Term 2022

Swimming

This half-term Mercury class will be swimming on Friday mornings.

The 6 sessions will be on 22nd , 29th April, 6th, 13th, 20th  and 27th May.

As swimming is part of the National Curriculum all children are expected to take part.

Children need to bring a towel and 1-piece swimming costume/trunks for their Friday sessions.

Long hair needs to be tied up and earrings removed prior to the session.

The pool requires both boys and girls to wear a swimming cap and these are available from the school office for £1.00 each.
