Harvest Festival

Harvest is traditionally a time of year when local communities held a festival of thanksgiving, celebrating the harvest and food grown on the land.  More recently it is a time when schools, churches and other community groups come together with generous hearts to donate food and other essential items to people facing hunger and poverty in their local community.

Once again, the School Council worked in collaboration with March Food Bank to support local families who are experiencing hardship this harvest. This year, there was a specific request for tins of soup and our school community did not disappoint as they generously gave an abundance of tins.

A big THANK YOU to everyone that donated. A HUGE  92.8kg was weighed in at the Foodbank. To put this in context that’s about four families’ worth of food at a time of need. The toiletries donated were also valued.
