Welcome to Hamilton Class

Your teacher this year is Mrs Johnson. 

Other adults that support regularly in class are Mrs Webb and Ms. Virgo.

Our PE days are Monday and Friday. 

Homework Expectations

Reading  

• We continue to expect everyone to read for at least 20 minutes, five times a week.

• Children have an Accelerated Reader book which is aimed at their most recent reading level, based on word recognition and comprehension.

• Children are may need support reading some of these texts so we encourage adults or older siblings to read these to the children to promote reading for pleasure.

• Children to record in their reading diary when they have read, this must be signed off by a responsible person at home. 

• Reading diaries are collected every Monday morning to review and check. 

Maths 

• We recommend children spend at least 20 minutes a week using TTRS, practising their times table knowledge.
• Usage reports will be run every morning Monday. 

Spellings 

• Spellings are currently set every week  and will be shared on a Friday.
• Spellings will continue to be taught throughout the week in class. 
• There is a spelling test every other Friday, the main aim of this task is for the children to use the correct spelling pattern for the week.
