Dear Parents & Carers

Re: Diamond Online Launch – For Years 5 & 6 on Monday 1st June 2020

We are pleased to announce that there will be a new link on school websites called ‘Diamond Online’. Here you will find links to our online learning platform for Years 5 & 6. You can also see this website here: https://www.diamondonline.uk/

Eventually, all learning for all year groups will be on our new online learning platform but whilst this is being set up, Diamond Online Newsletters are being sent out from Foundation to Year 4. We have also uploaded these onto our website. You will see some independent activities for your child to complete. We have split these up into each day as this will eventually be the format on our new website.

Activities should provide up to 3 hours of work for your child every day. On top of this, they are encouraged to take part in the daily Joe Wickes workouts. These are found on his YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1

We also encourage your child to read for at least 15 minutes a day. Your child may have access to Accelerated Reader, so we would encourage your child to quiz as much as possible. Your child may also have access to Oxford Owl, or Amazon Kindle where they can read free books online.

We are aware that some children currently have access to class sites such as Class Dojo, but as teachers begin to go back to school the communication will become more difficult, so please be mindful of this. We are planning to launch a new way to communicate in the upcoming weeks.

We are mindful that all of our families have experienced considerable change in all aspects of their lives, and we aim to do our best to continue to support you. As you know this is a new way of working for all of us.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely

Dear Parents & Carers

Re: Diamond Online Launch – For Years 1, 2, 3 & 4 on Monday 8th June 2020.

We are delighted to announce, that ahead of schedule, and following the successful launch of our Diamond Online Learning Platform for Years 5 & 6 last week, we are now able to ‘soft launch’ Diamond Online for Years 1 – 4 on Monday 8th June. This means that in addition to the publication of our newsletters, there will be an interactive version of learning resources on our website, which can be found at: https://www.diamondonline.uk/

Diamond Online Newsletters
As you will be aware, eventually, all learning for all year groups will be on our new online learning platform, but whilst this is being set up, Diamond Online Newsletters have been sent out from Foundation to Year 4. We have also uploaded these onto our website, where you will also see some independent activities for your child to complete. We continue to split these up into each day as this is the format on our new website.

There should now be a new link on school websites called ‘Diamond Online’. Here you will find links to our online learning platform, short explanatory videos and other helpful links that may be of interest to families. Following the ‘soft launch’ of Years 5 & 6 on Monday 1st June, you may have noticed that these year groups currently have the same work. This will be developed over the next few weeks so they have separate work, but in the meantime, Years 6’s can opt for the challenge task to stretch them that little bit more.

Activities should provide up to 3 hours of work for your child every day. We encourage our pupils to take part in the daily Joe Wicks workouts. These are found on his YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1

Reading
We encourage your child to read for at least 20 minutes a day. Your child may have access to Accelerated Reader, so we would encourage them to quiz as much as possible. Your child may also have access to Oxford Owl, or Amazon Kindle where they can read free books online. There is supportive information from the Education Endowment Foundation flagged in the parents section on our website. https://www.diamondonline.uk/parents.

Some of our pupils currently have access to class sites such as Class Dojo with their individual school. As teachers begin to go back to school, communication will become more difficult, so please be mindful of this. We are planning to launch face to face contact in the upcoming weeks. We are aware that all our families have experienced change in all aspects of their lives, and we aim to do our best to continue to support you in such challenging times. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given your child(ren) to access their remote learning – your feedback has been much appreciated.

Thank you for your patience and support once again, as we set up our new remote learning website.
